Shikara – The Untold Story Of Kashmiri Pandits: Official Trailer Launch

The Kashmiri pandit topic is back into the nation with the release of the trailer of Upcoming Movie ‘Shikara – The Untold Story Of Kashmiri Pandits’. Shikara movie’s director Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Its music composer A.R.Rehman launched the trailer.

Shikara is a movie based on the true story of Kashmiri Pandits who were expelled from Kashmir in somewhere around the 1990s. The movie is going to express the emotions of Kashmiri Pandits who were thrown out there of their town.

This is the first time a Bollywood that a movie is made on the topic related to Kashmiri Pandits. Vidhu Vinod Chopra who is best known for his movies like Mission Kashmir, Parinda, 1942: A Love Story and Eklavya is himself is a Kashmiri Pandit.

While having a look at the trailer of the movie we witnessed that it shows the problems and difficulties faced by Kashmiri Pandit during their migration process from Kashmir.

So who could else better can depict the remorse of the Kashmiri pandit other than Vidhu Vinod Chopra?

In this Vidhu Vinod Chopra’s project, he has given the chance to newcomers, Sadia and Aadil Khan as an Actor and Actress. Aadil Khan is resembling Akshay Khanna in the trailer of the movie but he is not.

On the 6th of January, Vidhu Vinod Chopra provided a hint to everyone for his upcoming project by posting a video on his twitter account of her mother visiting her Kashmiri town after nearly ten years.

The post was captioned as “Re-visiting her home in Kashmir after 10 years with her granddaughter, was no less than a dream come true for Shanti Devi Chopra. Join us in this unforgettable journey of many such Kashmiri Pandits”

But Vidhu didn’t mention anything about his movie in the post as he wants to keep it as a surprise for everyone and yes, he surprised everyone by launching the trailer of Shikara today.

In the video, we can see how his mother looked amused and filled with joy when she visited her town after ten years. We can hear her saying that we are settled in Mumbai, but we didn’t feel like home there as we feel in Shrinagar.

Before releasing the trailer, its poster was released, where both the actors can be seen leaving their town and a large crowd followed them.

The topic of Kashmiri Pandit has always been a heated topic for Social Media and Television Media. Actors like Anupam Kher, who is also a Kashmiri Pandit always stood for them.

But it will be the first time when this topic is going to be depicted in the movie. As we all know Kashmir is known for her beautiful lakes and Shikara their means Houseboat.

Now we have to see that where this journey of Shikara will land as it is going to hit the theater on February 7, 2020.
